We believe that a breed worthy German Shepherd dog needs to be work tested AND proven on the field through earning working dog titles. The dogs in our program have working titles, therefore we have compiled a list of working dog titles to define what they mean.

SchHa – Novice Schutzhund obedience and protection (no tracking)

BH – Begleithunde - basic obedience and temperament evaluation; prerequisite for all Schutzhund titles. Judged on a pass or fail basis.

WH – Watch Dog

AD – Ausaduerprufung - 12.5 mile jog used to test your dogs endurance & physical condition. Judged on a pass or fail basis.

Sch1 – Novice level Schutzhund qualification in all three phases (Tracking, Obedience, and Protection). You must achieve a passing score in all 3 phases in order to obtain a title, and to move up to the next level.

Sch2 – Intermediate level Schutzhund qualification in all three phases (Tracking, Obedience, and Protection). You must achieve a passing score in all 3 phases in order to obtain a title, and to move up to the next level.

Sch3 – Advanced level Schutzhund qualification in all three phases (Tracking, Obedience, and Protection).

IPO1 – Novice level qualification of the International Schutzhund rules. The dog must pass all three phases of tracking, obedience, and protection. You must achieve a passing score in all 3 phases in order to obtain a title, and to move up to the next level.

IPO2 - Intermediate level qualification of the International Schutzhund rules. The dog must pass all three phases of tracking, obedience, and protection. You must achieve a passing score in all 3 phases in order to obtain a title, and to move up to the next level.

IPO3 – Advanced level qualification of the International Schutzhund rules. The dog must pass all three phases of tracking, obedience, and protection.

FH 1 – This is an advanced tracking title. Dogs must be at least 18 months of age and have passed the VDH-BH test. The track is 1200 paces and aged for 3 hours.

FH 2 – This is a master tracking title. Dogs must be 20 months of age and have succesfully completed the FH1. This track is 2000 paces and aged for 2 hours and rated as U-Insufficient, M-Faulty, B-Satisfactory, G-Good, SG-Very Good, V-Excellent. This is the highest tracking title (Fahrtenhund)

RH1 (Rettungshund) – Novice level evaluation that tests a dog’s suitability for Search & Rescue (SAR)

RH2 (Rettungshund) – Intermediate level evaluation that tests a dog’s suitability for Search & Rescue (SAR)

RH3 (Rettungshund) – Advanced level evaluation that tests a dog’s suitability for Search & Rescue (SAR)

HGH – Herdengebrauchshund – The German Herding Dog test

Brevet – In ring sport (French Ring Sport & Mondio Ring Sport) this is the introductory test of obedience and protection work, to assess character, courage, trainability, and suitability for work.

FR1 - Novice level French Ring Sport title. There are 3 sets of exercises (Obedience, Jumps & Protection) In order to obtain a title and move up to the next level you must obtain a passing score at 2 seperate trials.

FR2 - Intermediate level French Ring Sport title. There are 3 sets of exercises (Obedience, Jumps & Protection) In order to obtain a title and move up to the next level you must obtain a passing score at 2 seperate trials.

FR3 - Novice level French Ring Sport title. There are 3 sets of exercises (Obedience, Jumps & Protection) In order to obtain a title and move up to the next level you must obtain a passing score at 2 seperate trials.

MR1 - Novice level Mondio Ring Sport title. There are 3 sets of exercises (Obedience, Jumps & Protection) In order to obtain a title and move up to the next level you must obtain a passing score at 2 seperate trials. The difference in Mondio trials is that there is always a "theme" and the decoys, judges, competitors, exercises and field itself are designed to match that theme thus creating heavy distractions and surprise situations.

MR2 - Intermediate level Mondio Ring Sport title. There are 3 sets of exercises (Obedience, Jumps & Protection) In order to obtain a title and move up to the next level you must obtain a passing score at 2 seperate trials. PDC – Protection Dog Certificate by the Protection Sport Association (PSA). This is the entry level pre-requisite to competing in the level I II or III. Beginning level obedience and protection routines judged on a pass or fail basis.

PSA1 - Novice level protection dog test by the Protection Sport Association. This test and sport was developed for civilians to compete in obedience and protection under intense distraction in more life like or realistic protection scenarios.

PSA2 - Intermediate level protection dog test by the Protection Sport Association. This test and sport was developed for civilians to compete in obedience and protection under intense distraction in more life like or realistic protection scenarios.

PSA3 - Advanced level protection dog test by the Protection Sport Association. This test and sport was developed for civilians to compete in obedience and protection under intense distraction in more life like or realistic protection scenarios.

KKL1 - Breed Survey Class 1- Especially recommended for breeding

KKL2 - Breed survey class 2 - Suitable for breeding

VA - Vorzuglich - Auslese - excellent select (only given at Nat’l Specialty shows)

V - Vorzuglich - Excellent

SG - Sehr Gut - Very Good (the highest rating available to young dogs)

A - Ausreichend - Sufficient

M - Mangelhaft - Faulty

U - Ungenugend - Insufficient

Since we are professional dog trainers we value the working ability of the dogs first and foremost. With that said we do not take the physical beauty of our beloved breed for granted and on occasion show some of our dogs in the conformation ring in addition to competing in Schutzhund, Agility and other competitive dog sports.
